Every person who books the same product brings the price down for everyone, including people who booked earlier. To book, you hold 5% on your card. It becomes a payment when the group forms, and you pay the rest at the end.
When you book, the deposit is held on your card. You pay nothing today. The 5% of the full price becomes a payment when the group forms.
A store that orders a hundred units pays less for each one than you do when you buy one. Here, you all order those hundred units together, and that price stays with you.
Before you book, you already know how many people it takes to bring the price down, and by how much. Every milestone reached lowers the price for everyone, even for people who booked on day one. You don't need to be first.
If the first milestone isn't reached, the group doesn't form and the held amount is released on its own. There's no refund to wait for.
The green slider is how many people join the group: the marks on it are the milestones, and every milestone reached lowers the price for everyone. The blue slider is how many people you invite: there are no milestones here, and every person you invite gives you credit right away.

The credit becomes yours when the person you invited completes their purchase, and you can use it from the next group buy on. It's yours and it doesn't expire.

When it closes, you pay the rest within 5 days, at the lowest price the group reached. If the group doesn't form, the held amount is released.
